Muggle.net tipped us off to a news development in which we’ve learned that Warner Bros has acquired the rights to several of Harry Potter’s associated texts and works of fiction. With the news of J.K. Rowling’s re-teaming again with Warner Bros. to adapt Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will follow the life of the author Newt Scamander, comes the news of several more trademarked works including Quidditch Through the Ages, Newt Scamander, Wimbourne Wasps, Chudley Cannons, Kennilworthy Whisp (author of Quidditch Through the Ages), and Tales of Beedle the Bard.
This potentially means more Harry Potter films or other media! Even though they are just covering their bases, so other studios won’t be able to snatch them up, it’s exciting to know that the magic will still live on! I would definitely be interested in seeing a movie all about Quidditch, but where’s our news about the Marauders, or possibly the Hogwart’s house founders? So many possibilities, let’s get to it Warner Bros!
