Kate Winslet In Final Talks To Join ‘Divergent’

Kate Winslet is in final negotiations to join the hugely anticipated film adaptation of Divergent. UPDATE: Earlier confirmation of her casting was premature, if she does officially accept the role we’ll let you know right away!

The novel turned film has had fans eagerly awaiting any news of casting, with only Shailene Woodley set in the role of Tris. It is currently unknown which role Winslet will be playing, but this is exciting news for any Divergent fan! Having someone as high-profile as Kate Winslet in the cast will be huge for exposure of the film.

This role marks the first time that she has signed on for a possible franchise. Meanwhile, the hunt for the perfect Tobias/Four continues!

    I think she’ll either be Jeanine, Tori or Tris’s mother. I can see any of them happening! She certainly has the acting chops ^_^

    I bet she’ll play Jeanine. Playing the villain can be really fun. The role of being Tris’s mother I think is too small for an A-lister like her. And if I remember correctly, Tori’s last name was Wu. So she should be portrayed by an Asian actress. (I’d like Maggie Q for that, thank you! :) )
