I was browsing the Official Production Diary of the HBO series Game of Thrones, when I came across two awesome behind the scenes featurettes! “Molding the Book into a Series’ focuses on Bryan Cogman, the executive story editor. He talks about his job making sure the books are accurately transferred to screen, “summarizing all the chapters, breaking down all the characters,” and basically just being the “adaptation expert.” Since they don’t have an unlimited budget, he works on compacting the story so it’s still faithful, without losing important pieces from the books. The second is “An Invitation to the Set,” which includes a bunch of awesome behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with important crew and new / old cast members.
