Summit Entertainment’s upcoming adaptation of If I Stay, which has been in the pipeline for quite a while, has a new star and director! Back in 2010, Dakota Fanning was in talks to star in the film, but it then dissolved into negotiations. It has jumped back onto the radar with buzzing it-girl of the moment, Chloe Moretz, having signed on to star in the picture. RJ Cutler will direct the movie, marking his film debut after a career of documentaries. Gayle Forman’s novel tells the story of a girl who was caught in a car accident, and while in limbo between life and death, has to make the ultimate choice of if she wants to “stay” living. The film was originally going to be directed by Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke but has shuffled into various stages of production before fading away again. I’m hoping that this time we’ll actually see the book make it to the big screen! What do you think, is Chloe Grace Moretz a good choice for Mia in If I Stay? Sound off in the comments!
