A remake of the 1976 ‘Carrie’ film, based on the novel by Stephen King, is currently in production. Chloe Moretz is playing the titular role of Carrie, a painfully shy high school student who has telekinetic powers. Her casting is a big change from the original adaptation, since when Sissy Spacek played Carrie she was in her 20′s, while Chloe is only 15. Below, you can see the first shot of Chloe on set of the film, from Dreams to Screens on Tumblr!

Chloe revealed to Vanity Fair, “I’m not watching it (1976 Carrie) in preparation for the movie because we’re doing something totally different and I’m trying to bring my own take into it. I am changing everything about me—my hair, my look. I’m doing my own take on [the character]. The script is totally different from the [original]. It’s more like the book. It’s a more Black Swan version—it messes with your mind. You’ll see things, and you don’t know if you’ve seen them.” With ‘Carrie’ being such a classic, there has been some backlash, with fans saying that it should not be re-made. Except if they are following the book more closely, instead of remaking the original film frame-by-frame, I would be interested in seeing this version!
