According to Variety, Moira Buffini, who is the screenwriter of films such as Jane Eyre (starring Mia Wasikowska, and Michael Fassbender), Byzantium (Starring Saoirse Ronan), and more – has signed on to pen ‘The Night Circus‘ by Erin Morgenstern. I personally think this is a great fit with the time period and complicated yet beautiful writing style – if you’ve seen ‘Jane Eyre,’ you’ll understand what I mean. The film is being developed by Summit Entertainment, with Erik Feig (Lionsgate head of production) and Jeyun Choi (Summit executive) overseeing. The novel tells the story of two young magicians that must duel within a beautiful and mysterious enchanted circus, as a result of an age-old rivalry.

I’m reading this book right now and I have to say that when this book goes to film it will simply never amount to the beautiful images that Morgenstern has crafted–what she’s created is out of this world. This world too deeply rooted in imagination and vast to bring to the big screen. But I said that about LotR, too.
