On Friday, February 3, the new film The Woman in Black was released in the US. It follows the story of a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps, who must travel to a little village to sort out the estate of a recently deceased widow. It does not take him long to discover the family’s sinister past that continues to haunt the people of the village.
Let me begin by saying that I don’t generally enjoy scary movies. Many times, I am disappointed by the lack of a good story and gratuitous use of gore. However, I have been looking forward to seeing this movie for months, and it definitely did not fail to deliver.
The Woman in Black is a frighteningly spectacular film, perfect for anyone who loves a good ghost story. Each character was very well played by the actors, drawing the viewer into the story. The storyline itself, while not entirely unforeseeable, was wonderfully engaging. It was difficult not to be afraid of the various specters appearing throughout the film, even if you knew what was coming. Be prepared to jump out of your skin.

Oooh, sounds so creepy! Super excited to see it!
