Taylor Swift has been chosen as Tom Hooper’s choice for Eponine in ‘Les Miserables,’ according to TwitchFilm. The major adaptation of the beloved play stars Hugh Jackman, Helena Bonham Carter, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen and Anne Hathaway. Others that auditioned for the role included Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson, and Evan Rachel Wood. The plot is quite complex but a simple version is that it follows a criminal (Jean Valjean, Hugh Jackman), who changes his ways to become a good man. He rescues the daughter of a dying woman named Cosette (film role offered to Amanda Seyfried) and goes on the run from an obsessed detective, Javert (Russel Crowe).
Taylor is sweet but is does not seem to have the ability to portray the depth of Eponine. Lea, Scarlet, or Evan would have done amazing jobs. Applause to Taylor for landing the role and may she try to tame Les Miserables fans’ anger universally.

I really think this role should have gone to a more experienced actor. I love Taylor, but this is a pretty big role– who knows though? Maybe she’ll rock it!
