Casting is underway yet again for The Host! Saoirse Ronan, star of The Lovely Bones, Hanna, and Oscar-Nominated for Atonement, will be playing Melanie / Wanderer, in the story where Wanderer, an alien, has taken over Melanie’s mind. The two central male characters are now being cast, according to Variety.

Testing for Jared: Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games), Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Jai Courtney (Spartacus: Blood and Sand), and Max Irons (Red Riding Hood). Testing for Ian: Dane DeHaan (In Treatment), Thomas McDonnell (Prom), Augustus Prew (The Borgias), and Jake Abel (The Lovely Bones).




Who do you think is the best choice for Jared, and who is best for Ian? Do you agree with the casting of Saoirse as Melanie & Wanderer?

    Wow! i can’t believe they are going to actually be making this into a movie! i have been wondering if they would since years and years ago way before the first twilight movie even came out. i have to say i enjoy this book much much more than the Twilight novels. and i love that it is lesser known [:

    It would be funny if Liam got the part of Jared because then he would be in The Hunger Games and The Host, which are 2 of my favorite books. And I think he’d fit Jared a lot better than he fits Gale.

    I think a lot of these guys don’t look old enough to be in their late 20s, which is how old Jared and Ian are. Some of them look like they are still teenagers.
    I’m thrilled that they are putting this on the big screen and I look forward to seeing how they interpret it. But I’m a little nervous about the casting. Saoirse, I was a little iffy about her at first, but that picture of her right there sets me a little more at ease. I think she could be good. Just my humble opinion. I love this book and I’m hoping they do it the justice that it deserves.

    Finally news coming about the Host movie. The book is so great I am so #TeamIan over the whole Edward /Jacob thing. I mean a great normal human with outstanding qualities whats not to love? Not that I dont love E & J but I am an Ian fan all the way!!!

    Saoirse as Melanie & Wanderer is perfect. She is beautiful, talented and her eyes give her that eerie quality.

    Cant wait to see the movie, I so love the book!!! I like the feel of it, eerie and hopedfull at the same time
