The third installment in the Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl will be Beautiful Chaos. It will be released on October 18, 2011. The entire series was optioned by Warner Brothers when the first installment, Beautiful Creatures, was published, so this book is already optioned as is its sequel. While Hollywood Crush revealed the cover and release date earlier today, Next Movie released a Beautiful Creatures movie check-up.
Next Movie interviewed the authors and tried to give as much insight on where the movie stands right now as possible. The news is that the script is finished, but Kami and Margaret have not read it and have not asked to read it. Margaret says of why they haven’t asked to read it:
“We really have complete confidence in Richard and Erwin and we feel like when Richard thinks it’s ready to show it to us, he will. As writers, we understand the feeling of not being ready to show it to the people yet. He doesn’t interfere with us writing the books so we’re not going to interfere with what he’s doing.”
The biggest movie news given today that we didn’t already know was that pre-production is planned to being later this year.
The authors also gave a fantasy mini-cast to Next Movie, telling them who they would each like to play a few of their characters.
