The Casting of Ethan Wate (Sort Of)

Steven R. McQueen, Josh Hutcherson, and Nicholas Hoult


Don’t get too excited. No one has been cast for the movie as of yet. I am simply starting a discussion. Who would you cast as Ethan? Taking into account the age he’d have to play as well as the skill required, but not being afraid to aim high. I searched online for about an hour collecting all of the names I found associated with the role of Ethan Wate. Here is the list in no particular order:

Dylan Patton
Kevin G. Schmidt
Logan Lerman
Chace Crawford
Daniel Radcliffe
Steven R. McQueen
Gaspard Uliel
Asher Book
Nicholas Hoult
Josh Hutcherson
Devon Graye

If any name is misspelled, blame the internet. While I think some of the actors are impossibilities, I posted every name I found to give you a head start on who you’d cast. So cast your vote (pun intended) in the comments and on my next post I will give announce the most popular choices. (Heads up: the next post is casting Lena.)

    NOT Daniel Radcliffe or Chace Crawford. Too old, not the right look. Why do people want Chace Crawford in EVERYTHING?! He can’t even act.

    I kinda like Josh Hutcherson for the role. He looks like he could pull off the jock/jerk thing but have a really sweet side. Yeah, I vote for Josh.

    Definitely Logan Lerman. He has the sort-of quiet steadfastness that most represents Ethan.

    To be honest with all of you, I think Steve R. Mcqueen should play Ethan Wate, because he’s perfectly casting a southern character as Jeremy Gilbert in Geogria for Vampire Diaries.

    Haven’t you see him playing a southern character in Vampire Diaries? Well, you should. In my opinion, because I saw Jeremy and Bonnie had very good emotion bond, so there he can do it.

    i think tyler posey off of teen wolf would rock the ethan part. on teen wolf hes a really good actor. think about it.

    What about Liv the british character? I think Emma Watson is probably perfect for Liv in Beautiful Darkness.

    Ridely the Bad Girl should played by Annalynne McCord from 90210 way too hot and bitch.
