Miley Cyrus to Portray Laurel in “Wings”

According to Wings author Aprilynne Pike’s website, the beloved book is becoming a movie–with Disney taking it on.

Portraying the main character, faerie newbie Laurel, is said to be singer/actress Miley Cyrus.

Wings is a novel about a teenage girl named Laurel, who realizes she isn’t quite normal, isn’t quite human. Eventually, she finds out that she is a faerie, and that she has to protect people, and it involves a certain gate.

I won’t say anything else about the book; I don’t want to give anything away. (:

    well, on the german cover of wings is a picture of “a” Laurel. I´d through up to now Laurel looks like her. ( in german the book names “Elfenkuss”.

    First, I want to say that “wings” or “Elfenkuss” in german is a very well done book ! I really love it like the 2. part , too . But Miley Cyrus as Laurel ? Miley woun´t fit, she just looks that different to how Aprilynne Pike describes Laurel in the book. And I imagined Laurel to be much more dainty than Miley could ever be, just like an faerie. I wouldn´t say that Miley do not fit in the story at all, but just not in the role of Laurel. Chelsea would be a perfect character to Miley ! :)

    I dont want miley to play the part of laurel.. i also think she doesnt fit… But what about sara paxton? i think shes the one thats on the german cover (elfenkuss)…

    Ich bin nicht besonders begeistert. Miley passt einfach nicht zu Laurel. Okay, die Haarfarbe könnte man ja ändern und so, aber durch das Cover des deutschen Buches hat man eine völlig andere Vorstellung und Miley würde alles nur ruinieren. Nichts für ungut Miley.

    First off, I hope Disney doesn’t screw up this movie.. I wish it were someone else like liongate. And Miley as Laurel? no way she wouldn’t fit for Laurel. I think sara paxton as laurel, josh hutcherson as tamani, callan mcaullife as david, and anna kendrick as chelsea.

    Oh no that would be terrible! Miley just isn’t right as laurel but instead she should be Chelsea. I would not really want to see the movie if Miley was laurel because she doesn’t look, act, or talk like laurel. She is too short and has the wrong facial shape, eye color and hair color (which I know can be changed but still). Please disney rethink your choice of who the actors are! and please please PLEASE make tamani’s character really hot ;)
